Our Easter Service will be at 9:00 am this Sunday, April 4.  You are invited to join us in celebrating the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus.

You may wonder, 'how should I dress for Easter Sunday service'?  Our attire is casual, but you can dress up if you'd like to.

The most important thing to know to be ready for Sunday is that there are no perfect people allowed in the service.  So, as long as you aren't perfect, you are welcome to join us.  I hope to see you Sunday.

Angel Food distribution is this Saturday.  We continue to work hard to get the word out about Angel Food since most people aren't aware that it exists.  We had the help of some great volunteers from Kansas, who distributed nearly 5,000 Angel Food menus to households in Mid-City.

The message this Sunday will come from Mark chapter nine.  We are working our way through the Gospel of Mark one chapter at a time.  The chapter is introduced on Sunday, then we really dig into it at our Home Group Bible study on Thursday.  Hope to see you at either of these.

The South Baton Rouge Church of Christ is serving as our host site.  Their staff has been fantastic to work with.  God has brought together some like-minded leaders with regard to His Kingdom and unity between churches.

We've finished the book of Acts for now and are moving to the book of Mark to start 2010.  This will be a great study on the life and ministry of Jesus of Nazareth.  We will teach and study through each chapter in Mark.  The message on Sunday will introduce the chapter, while the Home Group discussion will take us deeper into the text.  I look forward to seeing you Sunday at 9:00 am for our celebration service.

Sunday, September 20th is the first Celebration Service for us as a church.  We are excited to have reached this point.  Everyone is invited to join us at 9:00 am.  I'll be giving the message and speaking about loving God.  On September 27, Gerald Williams will be giving the message and speaking about loving people.

Our NINE foot by TWELVE foot screen makes for a theater-like experience.  So, bring the family and invite some friends to join you.  Doors open at 6:30 pm, followed by the movie at 7:00 pm.  We will be inside the Hope building located at 5320 Canal Blvd.

Nick brings a lot of experience and a wealth of talent.  I'm looking forward to working with Nick to have the Celebration service be inspiring, challenging and encouraging to those who attend.

We had our last Fun Fridays day camp on July 31.  The six sessions went by quickly for me.  We met lots of great kids during those six weeks of camp.  I'm working on putting together a picture show from Fun Fridays and it should be up on the website soon.

Fun Fridays is going by super quick, but we still have two sessions remaining.  July 31 will be the big celebration day for Fun Fridays.  We will have popcorn and hot dogs and all four of our inflatables set up for the kids to jump in.  It should be a super fun day.

Our August Movie Night will take place on Saturday, August 15.  We will feature the third in a series of very popular movies about some high school kids who really like to sing and dance.
